Leadership Learning for our South Canoe Outdoor Program

This past week, I had the opportunity to take part in a powerful professional development experience as a participant in the 2025 Outdoor Learning Leadership Conference in Banff, Alberta. Joined by teacher, Ceren Caner, our SD83 Director of Instruction, Jennifer Findlay, and educators from across North America, we spent three days exploring topics such as Environmental & Climate Education, Well-Being & System Change, Experiential Learning and the Possibilities of Place, Indigenous Knowledge in Land-Based Learning, and Risky Play in Outdoor Learning. With many wonderful take-aways and a stronger connection to other outdoor learning programs across BC and Canada, little ol’ South Canoe is on track to continue our path forward!
