Kindness, love, friendship and teamwork
The month of February brings with it many activities and learning around topics that warm the heart and fill our buckets. Ms. Chandra’s class has been working on a beautiful collective art project using individual elements of line, shape and colour. Together they have made the most amazing mosaic! In the office, Stacy is selling our pink shirts in preparation for Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, Feb. 28th. On this day, we hope to flood the school with pink to honor our efforts to ensure everyone belongs at our school. We stand up to bullies, celebrate acts of kindness and foster meaningful friendships at South Canoe! For the last few weeks, our incredible leadership students have been working tirelessly and selflessly on a project to hand-make individual Valentines for each student at our school…and they succeeded! On Valentine’s Day, every student in the school received a Valentine card made by a leadership student. This was their way to make sure everyone felt cared for. And finally, as we look toward the weekend, our school prepares to support the Shuswap Food Action Society and all the great work they do around our community helping to ensure everyone has access to affordable and healthy food. Please join us in walking for the Coldest Night of the Year on Saturday!
