Grade 5/6 Campout & Northern Lights!

Posted on 2024-10-11 07:00:00 +0000 UTC

Our grade 5/6 classes not only got to experience an incredible school overnight campout, but also watched dusk turn to darkness and the aurora borealis lights take over the night sky! The telescope gave awesome views of the moon, the campfire had stories with Indigenous learning woven in, and (of course) marshmallow roasting, and the kids made nature art in the new wigwam. All these experiences were made possible by the vision, hard work and planning of our teachers, Ceren Caner and Jenna Elidoros. Thank you to the parents to also volunteered, brought food, and probably are dealing with overtired kids today. All worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime night of camping with your friends under a rare show of the Northern Lights!
